    Frequently asked questions

    What licenses do I need:

    You need a standard automatic motor drivers license and a Passenger Transport Drivers license (PTD).

    The PTD is issued by the Department of Transport and requires you to pass a drivers medical and a police check.  It is a simple on line process that we can assist you with.

    What Training do I need?

    We will provide all the training you need to operate our dispatch system.  It is very user friendly and typically takes no more than a day or two to master.

    If you wish to operate a Wheelchair Assist Taxi additional training will be provided – no more than a day or two.

    Our operations team will provide you with support whilst on the job as you come to master the system.

    Does it cost anything to start?

    Once you have paid for your PTD with the Department of Transport there are no joining fees. 

    If you join as a driver, there are no additional costs aside from a nominal charge for two polo shirts. 

     A uniform of two polo shirts is provided, with the costs added to your first network fee charge. 

    If you wish to operate your own vehicle a monthly network fee is charged as well as a lease fee if you wish to purchase a car from us.

    Do I need a car to join?

    No, there are various ways to work with us:

    • You can provide your own vehicle which will need to be fitted out as a taxi
    • We will find a taxi for you to drive for
    • You can lease or buy an existing taxi from us

    How does insurance work?

    If you provide your own car, you will need insurance.  We can assist you with an introduction to our insurers.

    If you are driving or leasing, insurance arrangements are made on your behalf.
